Triangles!

“The visual system is derived from the geometry of the Penn Provost’s parallelogram logo, which is further subdivided into triangles to create a base grid. A variety of shapes and patterns can be derived from this larger matrix, creating a design identity that can be adapted, scaled and translated for a variety of applications and media.”

Praxis is…

– Engagement
– Experience
– Practice
– Research
– Community
– Innovation
– Connections
– Collaboration
– Learning

The mission of PennPraxis is to extend design excellence and innovation beyond the classroom and into communities by creating opportunities for students, faculty and partners to collaborate. We pursue this mission by helping faculty take on practice opportunities that match their interests and provide real world opportunities to work with clients on design challenges; by providing fee-for-service consulting in design and research assignments; and by convening events and communicating the practical work of the School.

PennPraxis’ activities draw on the talent of the School of Design’s five departments and programs (Architecture, Landscape Architecture, City & Regional Planning, Historic Preservation and Fine Arts), cultivate multidisciplinary work, and serve to extend the educational and research missions of PennDesign. PennPraxis is committed to public service.

PennPraxis exemplifies the vision of the Penn Compact to increase access, integrate knowledge, and engage locally and globally in the University’s core endeavors of teaching, research and service.

Get Involved

PennPraxis encourages engagement with design, planning, and development, both from within the School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania and in the community-at-large.
